Crowe News 2012
May 30 The NY Times: Le First Trailer for ‘Les Misérables’ -- Universal has released its first trailer for Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of “Les Misérables,” ahead of its Dec. 14 opening, and it offers many tantalizing glimpses of Hollywood A-listers playing sad Parisians: Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Gerard Butler as the Phantom of the Opera. (Wait, scratch that last one.) But the focus in this first trailer is firmly on Anne Hathaway, who as the ill-fated Fantine offers a rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” that’s as unembellished as her closely cropped hair. If you’re an easy crier you might want to keep handy a box of les Kleenex. The IMDb - Photos and pictures from Les Mis - Thanks, Gayle Lynne The official trailer for Les Mis - Thanks, CGee, Steph, Caliope

These are great, I am SO excited to see this movie! :) Read the captions under the pictures. I especially like this one. :) Russell Crowe's lawman Javert leads his posse past the poor citizens of Montreuil-sur-Mer. "Russell has been a delight to work with and is as sharp as a whip," says director Tom Hooper, the history specialist who follows his Oscar-winning work on 2010's The King's Speech with his first musical. "He has done six months of solid preparation for the movie," which requires the cast to sing all their dialogue and perform songs live while being recorded on set. - Also thanks to Steph Russell Crowe @russellcrowe Valjean is in Paris. 9 years...keep on running,I will run you off your feet...#lesmis

Souths Win - After dominating the first 20mn of the first half leading 14-0, the Rabbitohs let Raiders come back 14-12, score at half time. But they dominated the second one, doing a great job with a good defence and won 36-18. We saw a great Greg Inglis who was named man of the match and David Taylor too. Many others did very good too. Brave Bunnies! Rise and rise again... - Thanks, Nicole, CGee The Daily Telegraph: Why Russell Crowe feared he was going to get 'hit' --- "They sort of turned and came toward us and if they wanted they could have very easily stopped us in that alleyway. There was quite a large group of them and one of them looked at me and kind of nodded his head and said 'hey Crowey how are ya mate'? -Thanks, Mary C Another You Tube of Russell and Elvis - Closer and clearer - Thanks, Mirella

They don’t come more passionate about Scotland than Charlie and this fascinating documentary looks at his life from early childhood, where even as a child, he had a keen interest in Scottish clan history, to the larger than life character that has Clan Chief in his title and Hollywood superstar Russell Crowe on speed dial. - Thanks, Steph May 23 From TRC: Mark Wahlberg Interview -Posted on May 23, 2012 by Tamara & MM - Mark says a few sentences about Russell and Broken City – at the end

Instead, they wanted Gladiator star Russell Crowe to take the lead and Sir Ridley Scott to direct the film about a white woman whose children are taken by Comanche Indians in the 1860s. Stowe says, "Without a moment’s thought, I turned it down." - Thanks, CaliopeThe Examiner by Carla Hay: One Direction songwriter/producer Carl Falk takes us inside the recording studio -- "...Just to switch subjects for moment, I’ve got to ask about Russell Crowe because you were in the studio with him the day after you finished your sessions this month with One Direction. What exactly are you recording with Russell? -- "At this point, it’s just acoustic demos that we’re doing. We’re going to try and turn them into more solid songs. At this point, I’m helping him with this movie [“Les Misérables”] that he’s doing. Rabbitohs.com.au: Rabbitohs beat Dragons in golden point -- From CGee: "What a tough, hard fought game with both teams never giving up. It went to Golden Point and Adam Reynolds got us home with a beauty of a kick! South Sydney defeats St. George Illawarra 19-18" - and from Nicole: "What a game today, Rabbitohs playing vs Dragons! After being led 12 -0 in the first 20mn our Bunnies woke up and it was 12 all at half time. In second time Dragons first took on us but Souths came back 18-18 and in spite of them playing well it was the score at full time. But a few minutes later Adam Reynolds gave the win to Souths with a Golden Point! Glory glory to South Sydney. We are proud of them, they made our day and now we are up in the final ladder. Should be 4th!"From Allison: The SMH - Scroll to As The Crowe flies -- RUSSELL CROWE'S lack of face time at the Rabbitohs should not be taken as a sign that his interest in the club is waning. Crowe has hardly been sighted over the past 12 months, that is simply because he has been busy in his day job, and his acting has had him posted overseas for some time. Those who know the actor well say he wanted to back away from being so closely involved with the side because he wants to be able to enjoy his football team as both an owner and a fan. Crowe has not been hands-on by any means when it comes to player signings. But he does still stay in touch with the likes of Sam Burgess. And he is in text message contact with coach Michael Maguire. From Glenda: For the USA Rugby League fans … Deals put US Origin games back on agenda - "...The champions league concept between the top NRL and Super League teams was initially outlined by South Sydney owner Russell Crowe in an email to the Herald 18 months ago." May 19 From Cindy: For those interested, here is a 2 part short docu (~18min) done for 20/20 back in early 1987 just as Les Mis was first being staged. (See You Tube links below - Russell is the new Charles Laughton!) - Comments from Cameron Mackintosh and the music composers as well as short bits from the original London production. Very interesting background information. Actually, Bring Him Home was partially written (at least the way it was written) because of Colm Wilkinson's voice and watching him perform it in rehearsals gave me goosebumps throughout. A cute story about that, after Colm sang it that first time in rehearsal there was absolute silence afterwards. One of the directors finally said "That's a prayer, I told you, this story is about God." Then one of the actors said "Yes, but you didn't tell us you had engaged him to sing it." - May 18 At You Tube: Hugh Jackman's Tribute To Gene Kelly on Les Mis set - Thanks to StephMay 17 From TRC - "We've added more videos from tape - this week it's the Midday with Kerri-Anne Kennerley interviews from 1997 & 1998 - the same Kerri-Anne who is now competing against Danielle on SWTS.
