Live Stream: Rabbitohs vs. Sea Eagles - Rabbitohs lose -- From CGee: "Souths took it strong to Manly right off the bat, Nathan Merritt went over to break the club try record (144) and John Sutton also scored. On the back of a brilliant goal line defensive effort, Souths led at the half 14-6. The second half was a tough physical struggle with Manly finding it's stride, scoring three early trys. Souths fought hard, but couldn't overcome Manly's experiences. Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles defeat South Sydney Rabbitohs 30-20 South Sydney worked so hard, gave it everything they had and always played with all heart. I'm so disappointed for them right now but never disappointed in them. Thank you men of South Sydney for all you are, thank you for an incredible season and as always, Glory, Glory South Sydney!" -- From Nicole: "Sad news, our mighty Rabbitohs lost their preliminary final vs Manly Sea Eagles. Who could have thought when they scored 8 points in the first 8mn of the game, hard running and solid defending. It was 14-6 at half time thanks to an awesome defence preventing Manly to score in the last 10mn. But the second half was Manly from the beginning to the end, Souths scoring its only try of the second half in the last minute of the game. Manly Sea Eagles defeated South Sydney Rabbitohs 30-20. The Rabbitohs won't do the Grand Final but we can be proud of them as they did an awesome season"

TNT Rough Cut. Working in a period environment:

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

From Nicole: "I won't go into details about this game. The Rabbitohs were playing vs Melbourne Storms & they had lost their 2 previous games against Storms this season. So we could have thought the pressure would be a handicap. NEVER! From the start they took the lead with great attacks and a terrific defence. They were leading 18-0 at half time. The Storms came back and scored twice in the second half but never managed to go back to score. The Red and Green tide was in Heaven. It's a victory of a whole team, a strong team; they play their best beating the Storms 20-10. One more win before the Grand Final. Glory glory to South Sydney!"

September 13

From CGee: Souths Win! - You couldn't ask for a better first half of footy, especially against the Storm! The defense dominated without being frantic and solid ball control saw Souths score twice on the back of Melbourne errors, the half ending with Souths leading at 14-0. The second half had a few nervous moment, with Melbourne keeping the pressure on but Souths defense held strong, believed in themselves and South Sydney come away with the win over the Melbourne Storm 20-10! We get the bye next week and if we win one more game we play for the Premiership!!

The Mail UK: Derek Jacobi (Great interview) - Thanks to Swept at CC:

"...They had shot most of Gladiator, and the ending was to have been a big scene for Oliver Reed. But after downing three bottles of rum in a drinking match with a group of sailors, he fell off his bar stool. Soon after that he was dead.

The last shot should have shown him as Proximo returning to the arena where Russell Crowe is lying dead, so they had to change it. In the scene a group of giant gladiators step forward and, with my character, we pick up Russell Crowe and hoist him on our shoulders.

One night I am leaving the stage door of the Vaudeville Theatre when a woman comes forward, asks me for my autograph, and plants a kiss on my shoulder.

‘What on earth was that for?’ I respond.

‘I’m a Gladiator fan,’ she says, ‘and that shoulder’s had Russell Crowe’s bum on it!’

I didn’t like to tell her, ‘I got nowhere near his bum, love – he was way up there out of reach!’"

news.com.au: Russell Crowe flies out of SA after scouting locations for new Gallipoli blockbuster - Russell left Adelaide this afternoon with his small production team, bound for Sydney, where his beloved rugby league side, the Rabbitohs, are playing for the NRL minor premiership this evening. - [ed note: Sadly, they lost - 28-20] - Thanks, Allison - From CGee: "What an intense game of footy in front of a record (59,708) crowd for a regular season game! First half saw both sides going hard, and on the back of a brilliant try by Greg Inglis and one by Jason Clark, South led 12-10. Second half started strong and then in a moment, the game turned, two quick trys for the Roosters put the score at 12-24. Souths tried to regroup, but couldn't get the ball over the line. Roosters win this one and the Minor Premiership, 24-12. This is an end and a beginning. Souths have had a great season but now it's on to the finals where all their hard work and dedication will no doubt pay off! It's going to be an exciting journey to watch and I can't wait! Glory Glory to South Sydney!
