Note that the tally in Italy ($7,027,495), the only country where the film was NOT released by Fox (it was Medusa), almost equals that of the USA ($7,458,269). If a market one fifth the size can generate a box office figure almost the same as US domestic, then you have to point a finger at Fox and how it marketed the film. Murdoch was wrong about his statement that the film was not profitable. International and USA domestic box office have surpassed the production budget. When you add TV and DVD sales later, the film will do very well in the long run. So much for reports of a box office disaster for this movie.
