Baer publicity before the Braddock fight
Max Baer Training
for Fight
Original caption: Max Baer, heavyweight champion, assumes an unusual
position during today's training session at his camp here. Maxie is
preparing for his June 13th bout with Jimmy Braddock at the Madison
Square Garden Bowl in Queens and he is going through this routine with
the medicine ball not because he expects to land like this during the
fight, but to toughen his stomach muscles. Publicity from the Braddock
camp indicates that Jim is going to land a few in the breadbasket, belonging
to the champion, and Maxie hates to be caught unprepared.

Max Baer Acknowledging
Female Fans
Original caption: 6/2/1935-Asbury Park, NJ - Assuming his 'Hi-Toots'
attitude, champion Max Baer acknowledges the cheers of the fair-sex
contingent of his gallery at the training camp where he is busy training
for his June 13th bout with Jim Braddock at the Madison Square Garden
Bowl in Queens. Max just left the ring after a hard workout session,
but he is never too tired to acknowledge the plaudits of the fair.

Max Baer Waist-Up
Punching At Camera
Original caption: 6/2/1935-Asbury Park, NJ- This mighty right fist is
one of the weapons with which Max Baer expects to blast challenger Jimmy
Braddock from the ring when they meet 6/13 in the Madison Square Garden
Bowl at Queens, to battle for Maxie's heavyweight title. This picture
was made at Baer's training camp where he is getting into trim for the
bout. It almost broke the camera and scared the cameraman out of a year's
growth.

From Tim Braddock:
I am
a 57 year old first cousin (twice removed) to Jimmy - my grandfather
was his first cousin.
