In Memoriam - From Sunnie

It is with sorrow that the Russell crowe Heaven webteam share the news that a member of the Russell Crowe fan community tragically lost her son in the recent shooting down of a Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan.

Danny Healy, Senior Chief Petty Officer, Navy Seal. He was 36, (would have been 37 on July 17) had four children, ages 5 thru 14. He is survived by his mother, Natalie (Talie) Healy of Exeter, NH, and two sisters, Jennifer of San Diego and Shannon of Exeter, NH. There is also a half-brother, Sean, who lives in Vermont. Danny adored his family above everything. He was an all-around good guy with a great sense of humor whom everyone loved.

Danny really loved his work and could have stayed safe and sound in Honolulu where he trained others. Instead, he chose to take an active part in "chasing down the bad guys."

He died when the helicopter in which he and 16 other special forces was shot down by the Taliban in Afghanistan. They were on their way to reinforce other troops who were pinned down by the rebels in a remote mountainous area.
Oh behalf of all Russell's fans, the Russell Crowe webteam would like to extend our sympathy to Talie (Danny's mother), his wife and children and his family and friends.

To that end we have created a message board in order that people can express their sympathy and support to the family. As this is a board designed solely for that purpose we ask that people refrain from posting any political comment.

To leave a message for the family, the message board is at this URL books.dreambook.com/sunni...healy.html

From the NY Times on the victims of the crash:

In Honolulu, Robyn Healy, former wife of Senior Chief Petty Officer Dan Healy, 36, said she and their two children had received word of his death on Wednesday. Chief Healy had been a members of the Seals and had spent 15 years in the military.

"He was just a good guy, always joking around," Ms. Healy said.
