Today he relates to his profession in a different way. "I'm more relaxed on a filmset, because I no longer feel I have to prove something." Crowe arrived at the press conference two hours late, according to him because of the simulcast visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The actor, who repeatedly made headlines with his fits of rage and rough image, showed himself however good-humored. Director Ridley Scott's "A Good Year" is a romantic comedy about the arrogant financial expert from London, Max Skinner (Crowe). Who wants to sell off his inheritance: a wine estate in France. He received the Award in 2001 for monumental movie "Gladiator", in which he played the Roman general Maximus. A further Oscar-Nomination Crowe received for his masterly achievement in "A Beautiful Mind" (2001), the life-story of the schizophrenic mathematical genius John F. Nash. A Good Year is based on the book with the same name by Peter Mayles who worked on the basic idea for the movie with his longtime friend Ridley Scott.
