He was born here in the family home on May 22.

The Olivier family moved Northeast to a larger house they called
"EAST DENE", (after the district Deepalence), near Box Hill and
The Mole River.

The Olivier's next moved to this four - story terrace house off Ladbroke Grove.

Young Larry attended this church where his father was the minister.

The Olivier's next moved here.
 
ST. SAVIOR'S CHURCH
This church was his father's new post. It was across the street from their new home.

Olivier and Jill Esmond were married here on Friday, July 25.

Olivier made his first trip to Los Angeles where he was to make his first Hollywood film, "Friend's And Lovers" for RKO. Jill Esmond soon joined him.

Olivier and his bride, Jill Esmond, moved into their new home in June. It had three floors and eight rooms, thirty foot high ceilings and a minstrel's gallery in the main reception room.

DURHAM COTTAGE
After leaving their spouses, Olivier bought this cottage in Chelsea, near Burton Court and Chelsea Hospital, for the two of them. They christianed it "Durham Cottage". When they moved into their new love nest, she went to work on "A Yank At Oxford" and he started filming, "Divorce Of Lady X".
They sold "Durham Cottage" in 1955.

"NOTLEY ABBEY"
They bought this country home in the winter of 1943. They sold it after their divorce in 1960.

After selling "Durham Cottage", they leased this house until 1956.

At the end of August Olivier and Leigh returned to Hollywood.
She was officiallly staying at 520 North Crescent Drive.

Olivier rented this house, but spent most of his night with her at
North Crescent Drive. He was in town to film "Rebecca".

Producer Charles K. Feldman let the Olivier's stay here at his home while they were in Los Angeles filming. Vivien was working on "A Street Car Named Desire" and Olivier was making "Carrie".

She rented a house on this street while she was filming "Elephant Walk". She was later released from the project and replaced by Elizabeth Taylor.

Olivier stayed in Suite 5F. His rent was $425 a month. He was filming "Spartacus".
 
Thirteen months later Vivien Leigh checked into Suite 5D. She stayed here for four weeks while appearing in the play, "Duel Of Angels" at The Hollywood Playhouse. This was her first time back
to Hollywood since 1953.

While filming, "Ship Of Fools", Vivien stayed in this house that was rented for her by director George Cukor and actress Katherine Hepburn.

On July 12 a Family Requiem Mass was held here for Vivien Leigh.

On Sunday, October 8, the ashes of Vivien Leigh were scattered

(THE ACTOR'S CHURCH)
A memorial plaque was placed here on what would have been her 59th birthday. It reads:
"Now boast thee, death, in thy possession he's A lass unparellel'd" . (from "Anthony And Cleopatra")

She was living here in apartment during her affair with Olivier
 
After divorcing Leigh, Olivier and Plowright planned to make their main home in Brighton, where he had bought a Regency Terrace house that faced the Channel in early 1960. It took two years to refurbish the new house. Olivier was later nicknamed
The Baron Of Brighton.

WILTON, CONNECTICUT
Laurence Olivier and Joan Plowright were married here on Friday, March 17.
 
THE ROYAL CRESCENT HOTEL - BRIGHTON
While they were waiting for their house to be completed, they stayed here, which was near the new house.
 
WILBURY ROAD - HOVE
WHITE HAVEN NURSING HOME
Their son, Richard, was born here on December 1. Joan would later give birth to two daughters.

4 ROYAL CRESCENT - BRIGHTON
In October the new house was ready for the Olivier's to move in to. It had one of several four - storym gray - brick houses in a terrace midway between Palace Pier and Black Rock. It had twelve rooms and directly overlooked the Channel. He put the house up for sale in 1979.

THE MALT HOUSE
Olivier bought this group of cottages and made it the family summer home. He died here in 1989.

MALIBU, CALIFORNIA
During the summer he and his family rented Carol Burnett's beach house.

The Olivier's sold the Royal Crescent house and moved into this house that was near "Durham Cottage". They sold it in 1985.
